Jack London State Historic Park – Glen Ellen
Offering more than twenty miles of trails for exploring, this historic park in Sonoma County is a memorial to the adventurer and novelist, Jack London, who made his home here from 1911 to 1916. The park was at one time part of the renowned writer’s “Beauty Ranch.” Hikes lead through approximately 1,400 scenic acres of fir and oak woodlands to stunning, panoramic vistas of the Valley of the Moon.

Sonoma Mountain Regional Park – Glen Ellen
Now connected by a 4.25-mile trail to Jack London State Historic Park on the north slope, Sonoma Mountain Regional Park is a magical place made up of 738 acres of forests, creeks, meadows, ponds. Wide panoramas of Sonoma County including Sonoma Valley, the Santa Rosa Plain, the Mayacamas and Taylor Mountain are abundant.

Taylor Mountain Regional Park – Santa Rosa
Consisting of five adjoining parcels, this 1,100 acre regional park and open space preserve was made available to the public two years ago. With four miles of trails for dog-walkers and hikers to enjoy and a three-mile area devoted to equestrians and cyclists, the park will ultimately enlarge to 17 miles. All of this incredible terrain is secured by a summit that ascends 1,400 feet high overlooking beautiful Sonoma County.

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park – Calistoga
The location where the legendary author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped spent his honeymoon in the 1800’s, the site is indicated by a plaque on the trail to the top. Featuring rough terrain, evergreen forests in the canyons and chaparral, the 5-mile hike to the top of Mt. St. Helena is a challenging one. On clear days, hikers can see Mt. Shasta, approximately 192 miles in the distance.
